Medical Support Staff
- Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s are trained in Basic Life Support (BLS) and are
proficient in advanced first aid and can administer basic medications.
- Paramedics can provide advanced life support measures with strong foundations in
emergency and prehospital emergency medicine. Paramedics can administer medication and IV therapy.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) & Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN’s & LVN’s have a
minimum of one year of nursing training with certifications. They are skilled in administering
medications, injections, taking vital signs and performing basic primary care duties.
- Registered Nurses (RN’s are clinicians with two years of nursing training plus certifications.
They are skilled in administering medications and injections, taking vital signs and performing
basic primary care duties.
- Physicians Assistants & Nurse Practitioners: PA’s & NP’s are mid level providers with in
depth and advanced training and practical experience. These providers offer prescription
writing capabilities and offer a more advanced skill set across many clinical capabilities than
the other options.
